Keith has been playing for over fifty years and teaches saxophone and flute. He holds A.S, B.A., and J.D. degrees. Keith is a graduate of the US Navy School of Music (Army Element,) and has studied at the Boston Conservatory, the Hartford Conservatory, and under the wonderfully talented Tim Price.
Keith has performed with the various bands and orchestras over the years including The Temptations, The Virginia Beach Symphony Orchestra, Main Street, The Leo Liddle Orchestra, The New Vintage Big Band, The Bristol Reunion Jazz Band, The Farmington Valley Band, Simply Swing, The Torrington Symphony Orchestra, and the Bristol Brass and Wind Ensemble. He has reconstituted The Leo Liddle Orchestra to The Liddle Big Band in honor of his true friend and mentor, Leo Roy Liddle.
He previously founded the Nutmeg Big Band at the Nutmeg Conservatory in Torrington, a breeding ground for young musicians to learn the art of the big band. He has been a judge, since its inception, for the Northwest Connecticut Idol Competition held every summer in Torrington. Additionally, he is an adjudicator for the Connecticut Music Educators Association, having judged Regional Middle and High School auditions, as well as All State auditions, for classical and jazz alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone.
He has been Musical Director for over 30 musicals during the last twenty years and is an alumni of the 18th Army Band, the 76th Division Band, and the 102d Army Band where he was director of the jazz band.
Keith is extremely proud to know many of his prior students have continued their musical training, and have performed professionally or carried forward the gift of teaching with their music education degrees.
