Down Beat magazine has been the reference for all things jazz and blues since its inception in 1934. They serve the jazz enthusiast with album reviews, blindfold tests, transcriptions, and interviews. Thankfully, as they have done for years, they chronicle all the jazz festivals for the upcoming year. The list is broken down by region, and the East section (with New England and northern Mid-Atlantic states) is chocked full of great festivals, many for free, and most within easy driving distance.
